Keeps Gettin' Better?

Keeps Gettin' Better?

Last time we heard Christina she had her head stuck in the past and released “Back To Basics”. While the album was pretty strong and had some good songs on it, I think Christina started to believe her own hype.  She had a kid (snore), she was on the cover of some pussy mag (double snore) & now she decided to get her ass back to music with this little “gem“.

Right away you hear a very strong Goldfrapp “Oh la, la” vibe. Now I LOVE Goldfrapp, so I should just shut the fuck up and say the song is amazing. Well, it’s not that easy. The sound is interesting but the lyrics are just… how do I put it…… ummmma….ridic. “Sometimes I’m a Super Bitch” hmmm….Christina dear, you don’t have to sing that for us to KNOW Ur a Bitch, we kinda figured that bit out a LONG time ago. Hopefully, she’ll release the new version of “Genie In A Bottle’ which kicks ass.

My Rating: 1 minute of listening to this

I can Kinda Feel it...

I can Kinda Feel it...

After quite a while away from the scene, Anastacia returns to the music biz with “I Can Feel You” . (Video)This time around she has ditched her rock persona and is embracing a bit more soul-ish, R&b-ish sound. The song is not a bad song. But there is nothing very memorable about it. I remember the 1st time I heard “Left Outside Alone” and it was just so fucking catchy, this is not like that at all.

It sounds as though she’s a bit lost in which direction to go… Rock, Soul ….. she should just create her own mix of these and make something a bit more inspired. It’s ain’t bad but it ain’t good…..

My Rating: 2 sad monkeys.

Yes we know, Ur Girls!

Yes we know, Ur Girls!

I really thought this song was included on their album “Change” but to my surprise they are releasing ANOTHER album!  Don’t get why the rush to put out another album, maybe it’s cos the last one didn’t sell much? Not sure, but this feels a bit rushed.

The song is quite good. It sounds a bit funkier than their previous singles, which is a good thing cos the girls are young so they have to act like it. The only thing I DON’T get is the video. Set in a dingy underground club it looks as though 50 cent is about to bust in with 50 other ho’s. It’s not the classiest of videos. There that was the fucking grandma comment of the day.

Good song… hooker-ish video.

My rating: 3 and a half minutes watching Mutya face while she listens to this song.

Single Of The Week:

Womanizer

Womanizer

I guess a lot of people wanted to hear more music from Britney. So much so that, “Womanizer” has received more spins on radio than any other new song added this week. Why all the expectation? Well , due to the fact that Britney pretty much won some MTV “awards” people are waiting for a BIG comeback. I don’t know what there is to comeback from, really. “Blackout” was Britney’s best album, so not sure but personal life… well……. that’s quite another story. From Minge-night-outs with Skanky Lawhore (A.K.A Paris Hilton) to that famous “haircut” Brit really had all of us asking .. “what the fuck is up with that one?”

The song itself is like any other song that could fit nicely along any of her “Blackout” tracks. It’s nothing groundbreaking  but it does continue Bri’ts new sound that has gotten people interested in her MUSIC again.

I’m sure this song will BE HUGE all over the world and things will return to their natural order where Britney is the Queen of Halloween well….Louisiana?

My rating: 4 bags of cheetos and 10 frapps ya’ll!

There you go.. be bad and c-ya next week.
