This week we have a lot of the past coming straight up to the present, from the creepy Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes new single to the re-release of the of a bad Pussycat Doll song, this week has it all. Let’s get down to business.
Back from the Grave?
Just when you thought that it would be a good idea to let the dead be.. ummmm.. DEAD, here comes Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes back from the beyond to give us her new single “Let’s Just Do It”
The song was originally recorded in 1998 and was to be included in TLC’s “Fanmail” album but the producers felt that it wasn’t right for the album so decided not include it. So now it has resurfaced and it has ben given a new beat and Missy “can’t keep my fucking mouth shut” Elliot is in charge of the raps and the most ANNOYING ad-libs ever.
This breaks no new ground what so ever and in general I can see why this song was rejected in the first place. There is nothing special about it, and even though it was given a fresh new beat it sounds dated and just… not good. I don’t really see the point of this release. Her album “Eye Legacy” was released Jan 27th 2009 and was not a very big seller. I mean if people want to remember her for the great artist she was then release her album “Supernova” which was supposed to come out in 2001 but never saw the light of day. Not looking forward to the release of anymore singles off this one.

Not So Explosive.
“Dynamite” is the 2nd release off of X-tina’s Greatest hits album and one question comes to mind: Why the hell did she release this song?
I kinda feel for X-tina, I mean now that Lady Gaga is around there really is no use for poor old X-tina and her ways. Back in her “Dirrty” days X-tina was a force to be reckoned with. You so did not want to mess with her, she looked trashy,vulgar, skanky, and basically like she was carrying every STD under the sun. Now poor ol’ X-tina is playing second fiddle to the new flavor of the month: Gaga.
This song is just such a throw away. It’s utterly forgetable. No matter how many times you listen to it, the song will just not stick. Christina’s 4th album is set to be released this Summer. She is said to be working with the likes of Goldfrapp and Ladytron. If this IS true I really can’t wait to listen to this cos it could be the makings of the hottest mess EVER.

Rihanna without the hit.
Oh lord, here we go. It was only a matter of time before someone tried to copy (of all people) Rihanna. Here comes Barbados born Shontelle. WOW! She’s from the tropics just like Rihanna! She’s in her 20′s. WOW! Just like Rihanna! And that is where the similarities end.
This song “T-shirt” was a minor hit in the US and is now hitting the airwaves in the UK & one must wonder: WHY? What could this girl possibly bring to the table? She sounds EXACTLY like Rihanna. The fact that the song is BOR-ING doesn’t help matters much. I’m sorry but I just don’t get the interest here. Shontelle was studying to become a laywer in Barbados until someone from the SAME record label as Rihanna “DISCOVERD” her being annoying.
Rihanna is now working on a new album and is going to be away for sometime, so what?, Shontelle has come to fill the Rihanna void? Sadly for me and for all of you the answer to this question is : No, she has come just to annoy us.

Single Of The Week:
"Bottle Pop"- PCD
These are my girls….(as Mrs Mcgee from Grease 2 would say) Yes, they are back, with a tune that has been playing on my ipod NON-STOP since I first heard it. “Bottle Pop” is the 3rd single released from “Doll Domination” and it is signature PCD. It has everything that a PCD song MUST have in order to be a a Slut anthem. Let’s check:
* Slutty lyrics: Check
* Ho-bag beat: Check
* Street walker fashions & video: Double check.
As you can see these girls are back to form after the slight disappointment of “I Hate This Part” which was not bad song but it was not classic PCD. While the rest of the world will get this as the 3rd single, Europe will get “Whatcha Think About That” which you all already know how I feel about that song! But I think I could give it one more chance thanks to the Wideboys remix of the “Whatcha Think About That” which makes it listenable.
So enjoy these “ladies” cos they are back and with the singles being so good, it really will be Doll Domination and this slut couldn’t be happier.
