U Betta Work, Bitch!
Have you ever wondered what you would get if you mix in a little of America’s Next Top Model, add a splash of Project Runway, replaced the average boring reality contestants with Drag Queens and added the world’s most fabulous host that doubles as a mentor and judge at the same time? Well you would pretty much end up with the most entertaining hour on T.V, that’s right it’s Rupaul’s: Drag Queen Race.
Rupaul has brought his special mix of high-camp humor with more than a touch of Ghetto class to the small screen with a show that is utterly refreshing and gut-busting funny. (yes there was wee bit-o- pee in my undies by the time the first show was over)
The search is on to find America’s Next Top Drag Queen and the show has an amazing set of contestants that are cattier than a whole pound’s worth of pussy. Right from the go you know you are going to be subjected to hilarious one liners and great side comments by Ru himself.
Rupaul has really outdone himself and I’m soo happy to see him on T.V again after a LONG period away. He is just so fucking funny and I seriously don’t know how he can come up with such funny lines. The “oohs” and the “ahhs” and the “whaaa” are classic. Besides being a singer, model, actor , spokesperson (and the list goes on and on……) he must be a comedian at heart. His hosting is dead on and makes Tyra look like a tranny with training wheels.
With challenges such as “Drag on a Dime” & “Lip sync 4 UR life” this show has something that ANYONE, gay or straight can laugh out loud to. The contestants are told what their challenge will be through “she-mail” and Ru tells them like it is, after that Ru (minus the drag) comes in dressed in suit and tie (think of a SASSY Tim Gunn) to assist and critique the lovely ladies as they work. Then they are put through hell and back and must perform in front of the judges and each week one will be eliminated.
This show promises to be TONS-O-FUN and I can’t wait to see who will win.
