What a week! What a week! We have great music by a new group La Roux making a HUGE splash on the UK charts, and of course we still have that fucking Miley Cyrus releasing music. Let’s get this going!
September is back with “Can’t Get Over”. A hot new dance track that will keep all of us Gays happy for the Spring. This song is ALMOST as good as September’s classic “Cry For You”.
This song has been around since 2007 and was released in the U.S and some parts of Europe. The song is just now getting a U.K release for some strange reason, but it’s a great track that has already landed in the U.K top 20. Of course this song has about a million remixes and the best out of those is the Figoboy Remix.
I’m glad that she released this song, but she needs to get her ass back in the studio and record another album. When it comes to cheesy euro-disco nobody does it better and klassier than September.
The video is out of this world. Literally. It’s very cyber-space looking and her dancing is quite surprising cos I thought she was a stiff as a board. Oh, and a plus is the hot guy that we see at the end, 2 bags of yum!
My Rating: 4 sloppy drunken kisses on the dance floor.
One of the good things about NOT listening to radio is that my brain is not subjected to shit like Miley Cyrus’s new single “The Climb”. I watched the video and for the first 5 seconds I thought: “Hey this isn’t so bad”…. that is, until I saw her face and she started singing. It was all downhill from there.
I just don’t understand why songs like this are so fucking popular. We have heard this kind of crap before. The lyrics are about as bland as they come. Taking chances, falling down but getting back up again… I mean what the FUCK would she know about that? I think that the biggest chance Miley has ever taken in her life is deciding on whether to order double chocolate chip frap or a vanilla bean frap at Starbucks. And that’s about it.
I hope she turns into some pregnant teen and raises 25 kids and just goes the fuck away cos I think that she is everything that is wrong with the world right now. (yes, I hate this THAT much)
My Rating: 1 used tampon. (And I think I’m being nice.)
I really am digging La Roux’s “In For The Kill”. This song is a strange mix of a high screeching voice and electro beats. It’s a beautiful song in a kind of haunting creepy kind of way.
This song has made a huge splash on the U.K charts this week, entering at no.11. I’m really surprised cos this is not something that would usually be played on the radio, but now it is. That’s one of the things I like about the Brits, they aren’t very closed minded when it comes to new music. Not ALL the time.
There are plenty of remixes for this song but of course the best one for me is “Skreams Let’s Get Ravey” remix.
I would post a link to the video which is quite good but of course fucking youtube is still going on about not showing most videos on their site so you can watch the video here.
My Rating: 4 and a half sexual visits to the cemetery. (FUN!)
Single Of The Week:
After several times of listening to this on commercials for Mazda and Kenco Coffee, I finally know who sings this brilliant pop gem. They are The Noisettes, with their single “Don’t Upset The Rhythm”. I love this song.
It sounds so fresh and new even though I have heard this about a gazillion times, I still just can’t get enough. This song is a cool mix of campy fun and disco EXTRAVAGANZA! If you have not heard this song (you’re probably dead) then I suggest you download it now. It has been no.1 on the itunes charts upon it’s release, so look for a huge debut on the U.K charts next week.
Here’s the fab video! Enjoy!!!
