Week In Singles.

Music, music! What a great way to begin the week. I have decided to change the day I do the singles review from Thursday to Monday. It just feels better this way. Start things off with a bang! U know what I’m sayin’?

This week we have new music from a not-so- annoying new comer Kristina DeBarge and a whole lotta’ other stuff so let’s get it on!

Nepotism Anyone?

Nepotism Anyone?

I think almost everyone over 25 can remember the 80′s family group DeBarge. They were the ones that had that mega 80′s choon “Rhythm Of The Night”. Yes, they were x-tra cheesy but weren’t we all in the 80′s?

Well, Kristina is the daughter of the founder of DeBarge and she is ready to take the spotlight herself with her 1st single “Goodbye”. The single itself is really nothing special, but it does benefit TONS from a sample taken from The Stream’s hit “Na, Na, Hey, Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye”. To be fair though, it’s a tad more than a sample, it’s pretty much the entire chorus of the song. That’s what makes it so damn catchy. So in reality Kristina’s song has no merit of it’s own.

I like the song and think it’s a great, simple pop tune but will Kristina be able to keep our attention beyond the Summer months? Well, if this is anything to go by it could be another case of a one-hit-wonder, but hopefully her last name will help her out enough to carry her through so we can see what she’s all about without the gimmicks.

My Rating: 3 slightly repetitive monkeys.

Hot, But Old.

Hot, But Old.

After the brilliant “If U Seek Amy” Britters decided to release “Radar”, that first appeared on the stellar “Blackout” and was added as a bonus track on her current CD “Circus”.

I LOVE this  song and while many find it quite annoying I think it’s Britney at her best. She sounds sexy and confident on here “singing” to an electro-hand-clap-beat. The sass meter is HIGH on this song and that’s just how we like out Britney. Sassy and slightly drunk.

The only thing this song DOES NOT have going for it is the fact that in the pop world this song is OLD. The song WAS going to be the 4th single off of “Blackout” but Britney’s pussy-flashing antics got in the way and they decided to scrap the entire release.

In order for this single to work Britney and her crew better make an A-mazing video for the song. If she doesn’t promote the song properly then it will most likely flop. But I have faith in Britters and think she will pull out another great video from her “Circus” era.

My Rating: 4 Dance floor crazed  Gay monkeys.

Teaches Of Peaches.

Teaches Of Peaches.

What could I possibly say about Peaches for those that have never heard of her? Well, she first hit the music mainstream with the afternoon tea anthem “Fuck The Pain Away”. Her 2nd album was wonderfully titled “Father-Fucker”and now she is back with her 4th album “I Feel Cream”

“Talk To Me” is the first single to be taken from this album and the song really showcases how well little Miss potty mouth can S-I-N-G! The song is dark and very simple which makes her vocals stand out all the more. I ADORE this song. I just wish she would have been the nasty skank we all know and love her for. But I’m sure there will be songs on her album along the lines of such previous classics as “Slippery Dick” and “Fuck or Kill”.

The video is quite sexy and disturbing at the same time, but then again that is what you expect from an artist like Peaches which never compromises her slutty vision of the world. I’m loving Peaches “angry dyke armed with a dildo and is not afraid to use it” look!

My Rating: 5 lubed up strap-ons ready for fun.

Single Of The Week:

Annie - "Anthonio"

Annie - "Anthonio"

What could I possibly say about this Annie’s “Anthonio” that I haven’t already said? I can not explain my love for this song. The lyrics themselves are quite sad. A tale of a young girl giving herself away to a sexy man, giving into the heat, having sex, getting knocked up and never seeing the guy again. Sounds like EVERY girls dream. Annie manages to tell the story yet all the while maintaining an a-mazing dance floor sensibility.

I’m not sure when or if there will be a video for the song but you know I will be featuring the video when it’s released. If you have not downloaded this song then just fucking take your clicker to my side panel and download it NOW! So far this is my song for best of the year. (Yes, we are only in May but it’s THAT good!)
