This week after M.J’s death over 20 of his singles have stormed the U.K’s Top 75 singles chart. It’s kinda sad that he had to die in order to really appreciate what a brilliant musician he was. Me personally, I like Disco Michael. His “Off The Wall” CD is probably my favorite of ALL his CDs. It’s just a classic. So there aren’t many surprises this week and with some of the crap that is out there it really makes you appreciate Jackson’s music! Let’s get it started!
I really had to look this girl up to realize that, Leona Lewis does not have a twin. Not only does this girl look like her, but she sounds exactly like her.
I really wanted to like Agnes’s (yes, that’s her name) first single for the U.K, “Release Me”, which has been a monster hit here on the charts peaking at a very impressive no.4. But one must question if the fact that she could be Leona’s twin had anything to do with the success. I mean seriously people, there is almost no difference. The only slight ( and I mean slight) difference is that her music is a bit more dance orientated but other than that I really don’t see the point of this record or of this girl either, who I’m sure is a very nice and everything but there is already one Leona Lewis and that is all I can pretty much handle. I really do hope that this was just a one-hit wonder and she just goes away.
My Rating: 4 limp cheesy cocks.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, along come Kellie Pickler and her stinker “The Best Days Of Your Life.” No Kellie, not really, I would have to say the most excruciatingly annoying 3 and a half minutes of my life. (Oh yeah, Taylor Swift duets with Kellie on here but I don’t think that really matters.)
This song goes no-where right from the first note and the country twang is sooo not helping things either. I am SOOOO glad that the people in the U.K don’t listen to country-pop crap cos when it’s bad ( and most of it is) it’s REALLY bad.
I just don’t get the attraction here cos Pickler herself looks like a cross between a cross dressing Tweetie Bird and Woody Woodpecker’s long lost Thai-tranny cousin. This song and the singer herself are just a big’ol’mess and it’s not even a HOT MESS.
My Rating: 5 limp cheesy STI infused cocks.
Girls Can’t Catch are the new U.K girl group that are trying to find their way in the already saturated market of girl pop groups with their debut single “Keep Your Head Up.”
This mini-electro gem is catchy enough for keep them on the airwaves this Summer. Of course there are plenty of remixes that are going to guarantee multi-format success. The video is not bad and you can tell that there is quite a bit of money behind these girls.
Their record label Fascination (Girls Aloud’s are signed with them as well) has described them like this: they’ve got street-savvy attitude, a touch of class and hell of a lot of fun. So basically they just called them fun, klassy, hookers. NICE!
While I think that these girls have got PLENTY to go before they can even compete with the likes of groups as The Saturdays and Girls Aloud, “Keep Your Head Up” is s strong step in the right direction.
My Rating: 3 rock-hard cocks.
Single Of The Week:
EliZe is a dutch hooch, that had a big hit with the song “Automatic” ins 2006. Now she is back and is heading straight to the club and targeting all the Gays with her new single “Can You Feel It?”
The song is nothing earth-shattering but it is a lot of fun and is a perfect Summer choon. It does remind me of a lot of other dance songs but it doesn’t do it in an annoying way like Casacada’s “Evacuate The Dance Floor,” which tries to cover too much ground and ends up falling FLAT on it’s ass. Well, that ain’t gonna happen with this super, slinky and sexy song.
The other thing that it has going for it is EliZe herself. She looks uber-skanky on the video and really it made me like the song all the more! I’m not sure it will be a hit here in the U.K but it does deserve to be. Enjoy the vid!
