It’s been such a long time since I heard some new Toni jamz and there are some new songs floating around on the web and if these are any indication of the album, it promises to be A-mazing! One thing is clear though, it is not known if these songs are gonna make Toni’s album which is set to be released later on in the year.
Toni has had a really rough time in the music biz. She lost it all after she had one of the biggest singles in the history of music with “Un-break My Heart. Then things got tough, she went bankrupt, and left her record company. She had a nice mid-size comeback with ‘The Heat” with her single “He wasn’t Man Enough” but the singles after that were all big disappointments.
Things only got worse for Toni with the release of “More Than A Woman” (which in my personal opinion has some of her strongest material.) None of the singles released made an impact on the charts and there were disputes left and right between Toni, Jay-Z and Irv Gotti.
She then released “Libra” with almost NO promotion but still managed to debut at no.4 on the Billboard charts. Ultimately it was another commercial disappointment for Toni. I really don’t understand why her career has suffered so much I mean the fact that “Libra” sold over 100,000 copies means that there is still a strong interest in her music. I think she has been totally mis-managed.
“Yesterday,” was the official 1st single off of the album and she had a top 20 hit. I just really hated the version that was released with Trey Songz. Talk about annoying!
I REALLY do hope that this album puts Toni back on top where she belongs cos she has one of the most distinctive voices in pop history, and I ain’t playin’!
The first track is “Get Loose” which is a bit different for Toni cos it is a club banger! It was produced by Darkchild and it kinda reminds me of PCD’s “When I Grow Up” so that is a VERY good thing!

The 2nd song is a ballad that really showcases Toni’s amazing voice. There’s something so haunting about this song. I also the electro-vibe it’s got going on. This is a stand-out for me.

“Make My Heart” is supposedly the 2nd single from “Pulse.” It’s a dance jam with an old school vibe that works so a-mazingly. It’s catchy and upbeat which is something Toni does so well. I mean don’t get me wrong, She can sing the shit outta a ballad but when she gets a dance tune, she gives it her all!
