When I went to South America earlier this year I thought it was going to be nothing but sunshine and good times. Sadly this was not to be as the trip turned out to be one of the most horrific experiences I have ever had in my life. Not because of the trip itself but because I was in Chile when the massive earthquake stuck. If you have never been in an earthquake I think it would be pretty difficult to try and explain the how I felt during the time. One word does come to mind: powerless.
I can be thankful cos I was with my family and all of my family was safe and sound but not everyone was that lucky. When I was asked to help out with the charity event “Rebuilding Chile & Haiti @ Ku Bar” I didn’t think twice. I know that many, many people lost all they had and when I left Chile (2 weeks after the earthquake) I could see people who once had beautiful homes, now living in tents and it truly is something I will NEVER, EVER forget.
This Tuesday, June 8th @ Ku Bar on Frith Street in London at 7:00 pm, we are pulling out all the stops in a mega-mingler hosted by none other than my Cover Gay 2010: Rastino. It will be an amazing night so if you are in London, pop in and say hello and show support by donating some cash!
See you there!
