Judge 4 Urself: Kelly Rowland, “Rose Colored Glasses,” Rosey Or Ridic?

I still don’t know what to make of Kelly’s latest offering. I mean she has released 3 singles over the Summer and “Commander” is the only one that has done decently on the charts. It topped the U.S dance charts while “Grown Woman” hasn’t done much and I really don’t think “Rose Colored Glasses” will do anything for Kelly. It’s a tune written by Ester Dean (who had the brill “Drop It Low”) but sadly this song is a bit of a snooze.

I think Kelly has got to realize, that we don’t want to hear sappy boring ballads from her or fake-thug jamz. We need nothing but dance from this club-diva in the making. I don’t understand why she fights it so much by releasing such tepid song in the US. I’m glad we don;t have to listen to such crap here in the UK, and we get dancey, ass-shaking Kelly!

Judge 4 urself and see if this is your cup of tea, personally for me it’s gonna have to be a: NO. The video has just premiered and her chi-chi’s are looking great in this vid. Still not diggin the tune though!

Each artist has to find a genre. Didn’t Madonna try different genres? Kelly has a lot of potential and she can do it. Speaking for myself I love dance, trance, extended, club version, etc. As an artist I would offer my work to a wide variety of people and not just a group. In the US the music is open to anyone and any genre some more appealing than others but because someone does not make my type of music I will dish her/him out. Demand is what keeps the music business and artists. I am sure Kelly’s producers, writers, etc are aware of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYoFroHyX_4

You say that in the US music is open to anyone which is soo not true. All the radios play in the US is country, rap, and hip-hop. Anything else has a very hard time getting airplay.
I think Kelly has tons of potential, but she needs to find her voice.
It has been proven that Kelly has had bigger hits in the UK with dance music so she should try and expand that. Going back and forth is a bit annoying and if the US aren’t playing her dance hits on the radio I’m sure they will catch up, eventually.
