If you know who Monrose is you are one lucky Gay. This German girl group is HUGE there and they are now planning to take over the rest of Europe. Why they aren’t massive stars in the U.K is a total mystery to me. They have released 3 albums and “Lady Like” is their fourth.
Their brand of funk is just what we all need whenever we are in the mood to go out there and shake our booties to skank-o-licious beats. My favorite Monrose jam has got to be “Hot Summer” (from their 2nd CD “Strictly Physical) which is dirty, gritty and a true hooker anthem. There is nothing along the lines of that kind of brilliance on “Lady Like” but there are moments that almost make you want to take out the leather whip and candle wax on the nipple games.
Things kick off with the strong and sassy “This Is Me” and then carries through the amazing-ness of “Superstar Dj” and of course the wonderfully attitude-ish, electro banger “Like A Lady.” The only problem with the album are the ballads. There isn’t anything wrong with them but they just aren’t very memorable. The girls can all sing of course but the ballad material is no-where near as good as all the dancey fun that these ho’s excel at.
All in all, “Lady Like” is an album full of great, killer dance floor tunes and boring, sappy, been there done that ballads that hopefully next time around will be missing cos seriously no one will miss’em!
