Alesha Dixon is gorgeous. I think she is one of the finest girls in pop right now, so why she decided to release such a mish-mash of crap for her 1st single “Drummer Boy,” for her 2nd album is just totally beyond me. I have tried to like this song, really I have but the track just goes nowhere and the beat is non-existent! I mean, I’m all for a bit of drumming sass but you gotta kick in with a bit of bass, but with this it’s just like you’re waiting for it to kick in and it just never does! Annoying!

The video is quite good. I mean it’s typical, but she looks amaze and the dancing is on-point. Other than that this is a real poop-fest. I know she can do so much better than this. I really want her to come out with something all-out dance. So far her up-tempo singles have left me a bit “meh.” I think her finest moment, so far, has been “Breathe Slow.” That was a jam!

One can only hope that her new album will have better material than this, cos right now I want her to just go away with this track and all her drummer boys.

After the brilliant “Breathe Slow” Alesha releases her 3rd single “Let’s Get Excited” and while the song is not as brilliant as her last single, it will keep her on the charts long enough for her to release some of the better songs on her album.

I can see why this song was released just in time for Spring/Summer, cos it’s light and has loads of “treat me right” attitude which is always a good thing. The thing I like about Alesha is the way she sings upbeat songs. There is just so much fun in her voice that she almost makes you forget the song is kinda forgettable. (I said… KINDA)

I’m sure the video will feature lots of booty shaking and lots of sass which is something we are quite used to seeing from this little British minx. I’m sure that she will not disappoint in the dance department cos her dancing was A-mazing on “Breathe Slow” and that was a ballad. I’m really starting to think that Alesha is better off solo than with Mis-teeq. Cos this girl deserves to have the spotlight all to her self. GOOD 4 HER!

Rebecca Glasscock?

Ciara is back yet AGAIN, this time she trying Justin Timberlake on for size. PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE THIS WOMAN A HIT! This is the 3rd single released from her “Fantasy Ride” CD which hasn’t even been released yet.

“Love, Sex & Magic” is storming up the charts (FINALLY!) and some say this will be her biggest hit. Well let’s hope so cos while her last single was BRILLIANT it went nowhere. This song isn’t as good as “Never Ever” but it will get her back on the charts and get her that hit that she so desperately needs. The other good thing about this song is that Justin Timberlake doesn’t sound as annoying as he does on most songs which he is featured in. He always tries to stand out a bit too much but here he keeps his inner N’sync boy in check, cuts the crap and lets Ciara shine.

Finally what I’m really questioning is the single cover. Now, is just me or has Ciara been watching a little too much Rupaul’s Drag Race. It looks as though someone phoned Rebecca Glasscock to pose for Ciara’s single cover.  NOT a good look.

Have you ever wondered what you would get if you crossed a drag queen and a chipmunk? Well you would most likely get Kat Deluna.

Kat is the “try to hard to be latina thug” version of J.Lo. This is a big’ol mess and it seems that she is quite proud of it. “Unstoppable” is the first single off of her 2nd album “Inside Out” and to say the song is a stinker would be the understatement of the year.

Kat has given up “singing” and is now just screaming her songs out to ANYONE who will take the time to listen. It seems as though everyone has lost interest in this poor old chipmunk, including her record label, I mean how else would you explain this video. Now, I have seen my share of bad videos but this one takes the dick. You KNOW you look bad when you are channeling Linda Blair in the “The Exorcist” and 2 dollar hooker. NOT flattering Alvin, I mean.. Kat.

Single Of The Week:

Jennifer "PocketBook"

I guess it was only a matter of time before some woman threatened to throw her pocketbook at a cheating lover that was doing her wrong. That is what it has come down to. Why stop there? Why not just throw something that will really hurt?

This is Jennifer Hudson’s 3rd single, “Pocketbook” and sings “Don’t make me hit you with my pocketbook”. The lyrics are your typical “don’t make me get up and kick your ass muthafucka” lyrics. Now why is this my single of the week? Well, first of all it’s the WAY Jennifer sings that really does it for me. She has got an amazing voice and her “don’t fuck with me attitude” in this song really does it for her. From the sounds of it,  you so don’t want to make her mad. The other thing that is great about the song is the production. Thanks to Timbaland, Jennifer shows us all that she can get funky, let loose and abuse her man with any object she can find near her. You Go!

Slow Jam.

Alesha has really hit a high note with “Breathe Slow” her 2nd single from her current album “The Alesha Show”. When I first heard  ‘The Boy Does Nothing’ I was really disappointed only because I was expecting  A LOT more from her. I wanted something a bit more modern sounding and all I got was “Mambo no.5″ sounding throwaway.

Now with “Breathe Slow” she has released a song that, while not a club banger, sounds fresh and very now. I’m happy to see Alesha making a good comeback and has decided to stay away from the rapping which got very annoying, very quick. She has taken the klassy route and sings with complete conviction on this slow jam.

The video is very sexy. (It must be VERY sexy for me to say that, being that girls just don’t do it 4 me) Alesha is a Vegas showgirl and she is wondering the streets of Vegas. Then we get quick clips of her in a dance studio dancing her ass off and I LOVE her slutina moves! I would really recommend the video. And strippers take note! (I know I have!)

Ghetto Cover, Good Song.

This is Keri Hilson and after scoring a huge hit alongside Timbaland with “The Way I Are” she is out to conquer the world of slutty-ghetto-fab-divas. She has tried and has released 2 singles before this and they have gone no where. She has regrouped and focused her energy and has comeback with “Turnin’ Me On” a sexy, sweaty club song that will have you bumping and grinding up someones crotch for the entire time the song is on.

Her voice is kinda thin and annoying but  you really won’t care with all that crotch rubbing you’ll be doing on the dance floor. The other great thing about this song is the video. MY GOODNESS! There are some fine guys in the video! It is about time we get some yummy eye candy to look at! This is why Keri is my girl, she knows what time it is! It’s time to take off your shirt and pull up to the bumper. I hope this song does well in in the UK cos Keri deserves world wide exposure… (OK the video really needs world wide exposure.)

Nadia Oh So Nastee!

I LOVE this girl. She has it all to make it in the pop world, looks, slutty outfits, a skanky pout, she even has fucking roller skates in her video for her 3rd single “Got Ur Number”.

She is none other than Nadia Oh. She is on a mission to have some fun and ain’t no one gonna stop this Pussycat Doll reject from gettin’ her funky groove on. The song is an electro-pop gem that is breezy and light with lyrics that your 10 year old sister would scribble down on her “Sweet Secrets” Diary.

Yes, she is shallow, yes, she has no singing voice but that is not the point here. Nadia really doesn’t sing she just….. hmmm….. let’s see…. she “raps” in this monotone voice that is about as sexy as a visit to an old folks home, but somehow Nadia makes it work.

She released her album “Hot Like Wow” last April and it pretty much tanked but do you think Nadia gives a fuck? I think not. She is probably too busy dancing on some table and getting wasted every night to even notice she has an album out. But you just gotta love a girl like that!

Rupaul -"Cover Girl"

I think 2009 will be Rupaul’s year. She has been in the music biz for quite some time but I think that this year she will really break through and that is thanks to her A-mazing show and this little gem that will have Drag Queens around the world yelling “Cover Girl! Put the bass in your walk!”

I think Rupaul is larger than life and I think this is why his music is just so honest and it comes from deep within her stilletos. This song has about a gazillion remixes that cater to just about EVERY dance floor. This is an absolute must download!

This is the 1st single from Ru’s forthcoming album “Champion” and if “Cover Girl” is any indication of the album, it is set to be a Post-Op-Tranny-Classic! Enjoy the video!
