This week we have the return of a legend with Annie Lennox and she’s back and better than ever. We also have the return of Keyshia Cole with Tu-Pac (wasn’t he dead?) so all in all this week has been pretty promising. C’mon people let’s get it started.

Not bad!

P!nk’s single choices, so far, have been pretty good. Her last single “Sober” wasn’t a smash hit but it’s kept the public’s interest in her album, “Funhouse”. Now with “Please Don’t Leave Me” P!nk will continue to keep that interest.

The song is produced by Max Martin and we all know that if he’s produced it then it will most likely be a choon! One of the reasons that make this song good is the fact that she isn’t screaming at the top of her lungs or trying to be a bad-ass. Here P!nk sounds vulnerable and sings with a softness that we don’t usually from this hard bitch. So it’s a refreshing change.

The video is not out yet, but will most likely be out in the following weeks. I really think that P!nk’s videos are always a hit or miss affair, so I’m not really expecting anything brilliant from her.

And Finally I’m really liking the cover of the single because for once it doesn’t look like she’s about to stick her foot up your ass or go lick some hooker’s cooter… and that my dears is always a good thing!

My Rating: 4 Pussy Power Fists.

So Good!

Ladyhawke is re-releasing her single ‘Paris Is Burning” and this can only be a good thing. The song is A-mazing.

She is somewhat strange to watch on her video, kinda uncomfortable walking through a dark alley but wouldn’t we all? I think this song is a great mix of a new earthy-electro sound that is coming out. It’s simple yet very catchy.

There are TONS of remixes of this song and they ALL should be downloaded right now! The best remix of the song is the “Innerpartysystem Remix“, this remix takes the song to electro-heaven! If you have to download only one, this is the one to download!

Trust me you will be hearing lots more from Ladyhawke. Listen to her now before anyone and impress all your friends with your musical tastes! U Know you wanna!

My Rating: 5 Street walkers with good luck.

Let the Dead Rest!

I really like Keyshia Cole. Her voice is husky, rich and has had very good moments over the last 4 years with songs like “Let It Go” and “Never”.

So why she decided to release this mess, “Playa Cardz Right”, leaves me a bit mystified. OK, first thing’s first, I do not like the fact that this song is a duet with a dead rapper. I mean get over it! He isn’t here anymore, record your own songs! I just hate these songs that “Feature” someone who is as DEAD as Paula Abdul’s brain. There is just no activity going on.

The song itself is not bad but just the fact that Tu-Pac raps in the beginning just really kills it for me. The ONLY thing that I kinda like is the video. In the video, we can tell that Keyshia is really into what she is singing and I like the fact that she sluts it up as well, but in a very klassy kind of way. Everything covered, yet rubbing up against the back seat of a car… you know…. KLASSY!

Thank God her next single leaves the dead alone.

My Rating: 1 un-kept grave.

Single Of The Week:

"Shining Light"

Annie Lennox is an icon. Her face has been present for over 25 years and she keeps on going. This year she is releasing her Greatest Hits collection and the lead single is a cover of the Ash song “Shining Light”. At first I was thinking what the hell has Annie done now? But after several listens and then listening to the original I saw how brilliant she was for making the song ALL her own.

Whatever she does, she puts her heart and soul into it and that is one of the things I adore about her. I leave you with a live performance of the song that she did on Jonathan Ross. Enjoy and watch out for Annie performing this Friday on Comic Relief.
