I think Rupaul is da shit! He has been around FOREVER and is about the baddest bitch on any ho’s patch! His music has almost always been overshadowed by the fact of him being a fierce drag queen but truth be told Ru can really belt out a tune like nobody’s business. O-KAY!

His new album “Glamazon” is out and just in time for the 3rd season season finale of his incredibly popular “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” His last album “Champion” was a solid set of classic  Ru-tunes that included the fab “lip sync for YOUR LIFE” strut of “Cover Girl” and the “love you long time” anthem “Tranny Chaser.” While “Champion” didn’t set the charts ablaze it did manage to keep the queens in da club shaking their boo-tays to the beat!

“Glamazon” brings more of his sassy lip to the masses and the album kicks off with the very Kylie sounding “In The Beginning” and up next comes the ho-bag hip-hop anthem “Click, Clack (Make Dat Money)” which is fun and uber ghetto with KL-ASS, of course! Then the current single “Glamazon” is an amazing piece of glam-tastic pop. One of the stand-outs. “I Bring the Beat,” “Superstar,” ‘Responsitrannity,” continue the dance-a-thon in full effect.

The highlights of the second half are the disco-tinged “(Here It Comes) Around Again” which is heavenly and very, very early 80′s. Then the set closes with “If I Dream” which does lay on the sappy lyrics a bit too thick but the song is gorgeous and there is a dreamy quality about Ru’s voice that makes him sound warm and full of emotion.

“Glamazon” is totally the next step in the right direction for Rupaul and his music. It’s fabulously fun, fearless and has all the style and sophistication we have come to expect from the ORIGINAL drag superstar. Yes, Hon-E!
