Welcome to another post where I get a chance to interview the hottest Gay porn stars of the moment. Last time I interviewed uber-hot-n-sexy Billy and now I had the XXX-treme pleasure to interview the 2008 winner of the GAYVN Award for Best Actor in a Foreign Release, the ultra sizzlin’ Jean Franko. He was open to all questions & if you’ve ever wanted to know more about this Venezuelan-hottie then, read on cos what you read will surprise you!

Aamyko: How did you get into Gay Porn? Was It something you always wanted to do?
Jean Franko: I always knew I wanted to do something that involved photography & videos, something that had to do with showbiz. I was very lucky cos even at a young age I was always offered work as a model or for television in Venezuela. I never really thought about being a porn actor.
I was a professional model and worked in Madrid and Milan. One day, I got out of bed, stressed out, I just realized that I was not very happy working as a model and I remember a friend of mine Rafael Carrera asked if I was interested in porn work and I thought he was crazy!
I had just done fashion week in Madrid Cibeles and my career as a model was just starting but after 11 months I called that same friend & told him that I was depressed and broke and I wanted to give porn work a go. He told me to take some pictures and send them to him. Rafael sent them to Falcon Studios. Pretty soon I was working with Kristen Bjorn and then 5 years working exclusively with Lucas Kazan. All in all I have worked 7 years in the porn industry.
A: What do like the most and the least about your work?
JF: To be honest right now the porn world is in a shitty state. I mean before I used to love being an actor. There were few of us but we were all very good. Now, it seems as though anyone can be a porn actor. I used to be really proud of being an actor an nowadays, not so much. But now I am in this industry and I will continue to be an actor that lives from his work. I’m not an actor to get tons of fans, for me it’s work and I try to maintain my image as best as I can.
A: What is coming up for you in 2010?
JF: I have some side projects that I am working on at the moment. The first one is my party THE ONE X. I am the promoter and I also came up with the concept which is related to the porn world. It’s a party that goes on every 6 weeks in Brussels but in the future I would like to take it to other countries as well.
I will never change the concept. It will always be The One X, with gay porn actors and the porn world. I also have another project that I hope to start on next year. As a porn actor you, are a brand. There are some actors that don’t know this. I have discovered this and when you are an actor, you are lucky in the sense that you can use your name very easily for any business project. I am also about to launch my new web-site (www.jean-franko.com) where you will be able to get to know more about my life in the porn world and as a professional model.
A: A lot of people think that the porn world is full of arrogant assholes and drug addicts, is there any truth to that?
JF: That’s a really tough question. I don’t want to hurt anyone with my answer. But I can tell you, that each mind is its own world. I am an actor and am very professional but sadly the industry has changed a lot. Before, being an porn actor was a big deal and now it’s not. At the moment, you can download videos for free on many sites and anyone can be a porn actor thus directors don’t pay very well. I can tell you that from my point of view.
I can be arrogant and perhaps that is a wall I have up as protection cos there are bad people out there. I really don’t have huge groups of friends and I’m almost always alone. I don’t have many friends and I enjoy my own company very much.
I don’t use drugs. I’m not interested in that world. I have a great family and I fight very hard for them. Drugs are shit. I would not use them. I am a very active person (mind & sexually) I like to dominate the situation and I don’t like to be dominated. I try to stay away from people who use drugs but sadly that is something difficult to do in the line of work I do.
Life is difficult but we must find a way to find a balance so that we can have a healthy life and a dignified death.
I know the London scene very well and most say that porn actors don’t have a healthy lifestyle, but London is not the porn world. Sorry to say that, but some of us are very easy going and take our work very seriously. If my answer can in someway help people that are in that drug world then I think I have done a good job. I love my Life!
A: Do you like being famous? You must get recognized a lot! Are you single at the moment?
JF: Sometimes, I think I’m a porn actor just by chance or maybe it was my destiny. One way or another people do look at me as Jean Franko or Jean Carlos (my real name) But I don’t think they look at me just cos I am a porn actor.
To be honest, it’s great when people say they love your work. But it depends on who’s giving the compliment. If it’s some nasty, mean club-queen then I change the subject but if it’s other actors or people that are involved in the porn world, it’s great! So many great things have happened to me for being an actor and I have taken full advantage of it.
I did have a a long term relationship for 4 years and it gave me stability, peace and a lot of confidence. At the moment I am not involved with anyone. I like being in a relationship cos I like stability in my life.
A: I see that you have won 2 GAYVN Awards in the U.S, tell me about that.
JF: This is the most important award in the Gay porn industry and I won in 2007 for Best Actor in a Foreign Release (The Men I Wanted) and in 2008 for Lukas Kazan. With so many actors out there, it truly is an honour to win and it really is important to me as the award is given by the public and fans.
A: Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
JF: Yes, in the words of Paulo Coelho:
1- The warrior that believes in his path, does not have to demonstrate that the others’ are erroneous.
